The Academy of STEM is built on innovative, cutting-edgeproject-based instruction. Today, STEM includes fieldssuch as computer science, engineering, and robotics.Computer science courses focus on problem-solvingthrough hands-on projects. Over the past 25 years,STEM education has evolved from a simple groupingof four related disciplines into a cohesive knowledgebase and skill set essential for the 21st century. It nowencompasses computer science, the “designed world,”and robotics, reflecting the integration of the originalfour domains. The goal is to solve problems and developinnovative solutions to real-world challenges. Studentsalso have the opportunity to earn college credit fromCUNY York and SUNY Farmingdale.
