The International Academy is a community of dedicated staff collaboratively engaged in ensuring success for our English language learners that speak a variety of 15 languages and come from over 30 different countries. We are a community within the Richmond Hill High School community where student learning is supported by our Teachers, Parents and Community. We strive to nurture every child, by ensuring emotional, social, and physical needs are met so that every child is ready to learn. Our educational experiences are engaging and student centered, promote independent thinking, incorporate technology and develop students’ participation in driving their own learning. We hold high expectations for our students so they are given the capacity to take Advanced Placement courses and Honor Courses, and graduate with the fortitude for college and career options.
Richmond Hill High School offers two programs for English Language Learners (ELLs): a Transitional Bilingual Education (TBE) program in Spanish and a Freestanding English as a New Language (FS-ENL) program. Both programs offer an extensive range of classes and appropriate level coursework for students in grades 9-12.
