Richmond Hill High School invites you to participate in our Saturday TITLE 1 Parent Workshop Series.
Workshop Series Includes:
- South Asian Council for Social Services (SACSS)
- Parent Engagement Program (Three week series on Saturdays from 10-11:30 AM 4/6, 4/13 and 4/20)
- Technology Workshop Saturdays from 9-12 Noon -- April 6th—June 1st (Excluding 5/25 due to break)

Welcome Letter from Principal Anderson
Welcome to the new school year. I am delighted to join the Richmond Hill High School family and am excited about having the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of so many young people. Once again, thank you to those of you who have reached out to me and have helped me familiarize myself with the successes our school enjoys and the challenges it faces.
First, let me share a little bit about myself. I am a former book editor and author, with a passion for language. Several years ago, I changed careers in order to fulfill a long-held desire to provide young adults opportunities that, traditionally, they may not have had. My years in the classroom as an Algebra teacher have strengthened my commitment to this goal.
As I have been settling in during the summer, I have had some time to meet people in small settings and have really loved getting a glimpse of what Richmond Hill High School is all about. Despite the challenges the school faces, one thing is quite clear: People care about people here. However, there is much work to be done.
Our mission is to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students. We believe that requires a strong partnership between home and school. Accordingly, we encourage you to take advantage of all our valuable resources. For students, this requires being an active participant in your education by attending classes everyday on time, being prepared for and involved in classroom activities, doing the required work and treating all members of the school community with respect. For parents, this means getting to know the parent coordinator, attending PTA meetings, and meeting with teachers at Parent/Teacher conferences.
Please be reminded that the first day of school is Thursday, September 6, 2012.
With this letter, I hope to open a trusting line of communication between us. You will find me to be a dedicated and accessible principal who places the needs of students first. Once again, I am delighted to join the Richmond Hill High School community; and I am looking forward to a rich and rewarding year.
